Jenna's Digital Story

Hey guys! I can't get my digital story on to YouTube, so here it is! Enjoy it.

Google Maps

https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Western+Michigan+University,+1903+W+Michigan+Ave,+Kalamazoo,+MI+49008/Darwin+Middle+School,+Atkins+Dr,+The+Gardens+NT+0820,+Australia/@16.6842292,-176.577148,3z/data=!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x881777dbae0f27ad:0xc17c1786b9ea635b!2m2!1d-85.615219!2d42.283178!1m5!1m1!1s0x2cc091807040cce5:0x2c3913b52377bfee!2m2!1d130.835602!2d-12.438368

So that is the URL for the Map, I just simply did WMU to Darwin Middle School in The Gardens NT, Australia. I still need to add the summary about how it will be used but let me know what you think about the map.

Summary For Google Map:

The Google Map that we had chosen shows the distance between Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan and Darwin Middle School in The Garden NT, Australia. The Google Map can be used in the Virtual Penpals activity in many ways. I believe that it would be most beneficial to use it at the start of Virtual Penpals. I believe this is the best way to incorporate the map because it will clearly show our students how far Australia is in correspondence to Michigan. It will also be a good introduction to the Penpals as well. The map can also be used at the end of the lesson as well after the students gather the information throughout the 4 week period. The map can be used to show how different weather can be in two places that are very far away from each other. I think the map can be used in both ways and be a great source for our students to see how far two places can be from each other and have either the same or different weather.

Digital Story

We have discussed our topics through text message so I just wanted to post them on here for Sharon. I will be doing meteorology, Mike will be doing weather fronts, and  Jenna will be doing severe weather.

Website Evaluations

Hey guys, so I figured we should all put down which websites we will be evaluating since we each need to evaluate 3 and we cannot do the same websites. I was going to do one of my website evaluations on brainpop.com there is a whole section on weather and types of weather so I thought that would go with our topic. I am still looking for 2 more, but I think it will be helpful if we each post our websites!

Concept Map-Weather Monitoring

Hey group!

We are still trying to figure out how to add the concept map to this blog account. We need to discuss what each of us is going to write their lesson plan on because that is due next week. I am still trying to figure out how to work this blogger account. It's not that easy to do.
